I am making sesame tahini with it right now. I used 1 cup hulled seeds and 1 cup freshly roasted seeds. I can see now it might have been a better choice to keep the amount down to 1 1/2 cups. On the way the jar got so hot that I have put the sealing lid on the Twister Jar and placed it in the refrigerator and I will continue after it has cooled down. There is no harm in putting the Twister Jar in the refrigerator is there? (Note: I saw someone do the tahini without adding any oil at all and it came out totally runny and creamy and that is what I am going for!)

I just made a batch using about 1 1/2 cups of sliced premium Mariani almonds. I always keep these handy as they are ready to use and raw. Just roast them for a few minutes in a toaster oven and they will always be ready. I added about 1 t of coconut oil and a bit of salt. My Blendtec is from the Designer Series so the pre-sets are different. I started on the lowest setting and went up to the 3 line mark. Perfect blending and no overheating. I think the raw sliced almonds take care of a lot of those type of problems. BTW you can buy the Mariani almonds in 2 lb bags at Costco.

I just this moment finally completed making wonderful Almond Butter in my Twister Jar, but instead of the 50 seconds noted in the recipe, it took 6 times at speed 7 before it was creamy. "The jar gets far too hot in the process, so stopped frequently to cool it down. Probably should have waited even longer as the butter was very hot when completed. Lost some nuitrients undoubtedly….but it is wonderfully creamy and delicious!

I just tried making almond butter in my wildside jar with my new blendtec and it overheated, the seal around the blades melted, and got black plastic all in the nut butter. I only blended it for a few minutes max and stopped in between to give it a rest and scrape down the sides. I’m so disappointed!
