- Hold lid with one hand, and with other hand set on a Medium to Medium-High speed.
- Turn lid counterclockwise during blending. Run for 50 seconds.
- Add salt to taste.
Note: For almond butter using raw almonds, blend 1½ cups of raw almonds and 1-2 tbsp. of almond oil at speed 7 (or a Medium-High speed) until smooth and creamy.
I received my twister jar yesterday and immediatly poured 1.5 cups raw almonds to make almond butter. After 2 cycles at speed 7, we were left with a thick hot paste, not spreadable, nor dippable. I thought about adding oil but changed my mind. I scraped it out in disappointment, but figured I could still use the chunky almond paste for something. After a few hours I went back and the almonds were cool to the touch, I decided to run them again, same cycle, speed 7 while using the twister jar. To our disbelief, it turned chunky paste into a smooth and silky almond butter.
Tried it again, this time with a 1 1/3 cup raw almonds, 2 cycles and I achieved the perfect results.
I did just notice how your post was 6 months ago, but hope this helps.
Tried it four times and all I have received is thick almond mush. Ticked off!
We have a standard blendtec jar, not sure what it’s called. I used a higher speed (like 10) and it successfully turned half raw, half roasted almonds into a relatively creamy butter. No oil added.
i read just yesterday that to soak nuts of any kind makes them more nutrisious. so if one would soak drain off would that not make it easier to purify to make butter?
Speaking of "senior moments," I have a "senior" Blendtec I am using with the Twister Jar. It was called something like Champ HP3. The speeds are 1 to 4, so when Blendtec tells me to run at 7 I am totally lost!
