Instructions
- Add almonds to Twister jar, and place lid on jar.
- Hold lid with one hand, and with other hand set on a Medium to Medium-High speed.
- Turn lid counterclockwise during blending. Run for 50 seconds.
- Add salt to taste.
Note: For almond butter using raw almonds, blend 1½ cups of raw almonds and 1-2 tbsp. of almond oil at speed 7 (or a Medium-High speed) until smooth and creamy.
After you soak to release the enzymes you’re supposed to let them dry either using a dehydrator or oven using a low setting. If you roast your almonds for about 10 min you can let them cool for a little then make your butter. ;)
Why can’t I delete this comment. Weird.
I figured it out. :)
I just bought the designer 625 and I want to make almond butter. I have the twister jar but my blender doesn’t show speeds or settings. It has the presets and then the slider speed control, where is speed 7 or 4? Or is there a preset that will work?
This is a horrible recipe. Using raw almonds, the nuts become clumped, chalky and very hot, and it NEVER becomes "smooth and creamy." Adding a little oil, less than a teaspoon, and some salt, does wonders for the flavors, and the butter becomes smooth in far less time, and the motor doesn’t overheat. That should be explained in the recipe, not in the comments below rectifying the omission.
