Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup raw almonds
  • 1 medium apple quartered and cored
  • 1 tbsp. flaxseeds
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher or sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Add water, almonds and apple to WildSide+ jar and secure lid. Select "Whole Juice" cycle or blend on a Medium to Medium-High speed for 50-60 seconds.
  2. Add remaining ingredients to the jar and secure lid. Select "Batters" cycle or blend on a Medium to Medium-Low speed for 30 seconds. 
  3. Allow batter to rest 5 minutes.
  4. Heat griddle or other pan over medium to medium high heat and grease.
  5. Pour approximately ¼ cup batter onto heated pan and cook approximately 1 minute or until bubbles break the surface of the pancake and the underside is golden brown.
  6. Flip and cook for approximately 30 seconds. Repeat with remaining batter.
  7. Serve immediately or keep warm in the oven at 200˚F loosely wrapped in foil.

Notes

To make this recipe in the FourSide jar, decrease measurements by one third.

    ALSO – pancakes are usually "eyeballed" so you can also simply follow the basic recipe, add protein powder, and then see what you need to do: add more liquid? maybe. maybe not!

    Sorry but we have not made them yet even though they so good. We will probably leave out the flax seed though but if we do that no adjustments will be necessary.

    I often replace a 1/4 C flour with 1/4 C pea protein in my pancakes. It always works for me. I haven’t tried it with this recipe, but you should let us know how it works.
