Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup raw almonds
  • 1 medium apple quartered and cored
  • 1 tbsp. flaxseeds
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher or sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Add water, almonds and apple to WildSide+ jar and secure lid. Select "Whole Juice" cycle or blend on a Medium to Medium-High speed for 50-60 seconds.
  2. Add remaining ingredients to the jar and secure lid. Select "Batters" cycle or blend on a Medium to Medium-Low speed for 30 seconds. 
  3. Allow batter to rest 5 minutes.
  4. Heat griddle or other pan over medium to medium high heat and grease.
  5. Pour approximately ¼ cup batter onto heated pan and cook approximately 1 minute or until bubbles break the surface of the pancake and the underside is golden brown.
  6. Flip and cook for approximately 30 seconds. Repeat with remaining batter.
  7. Serve immediately or keep warm in the oven at 200˚F loosely wrapped in foil.

Notes

To make this recipe in the FourSide jar, decrease measurements by one third.

    I use buckwheat flour 1 cup 1/4 cup arrowroot and 1/4 cup tapioca flour, you may need to add a little more buckwheat if it is too wet. I’d use less water and some fresh juiced apples to replace 1/2 of the water.

    One thing is for sure if you make one adjustment the results are often other adjustments will have to be made to compensate. It is a matter of finding and experimenting to get what you like.

    you don’t cook/bake very often do you…?
    try replacing some of the flour with protein powder…in other words: use, for example, 1 3/4 cups flour + 1/4 cup protein powder
