It doesn’t work with mine either. I blend my bananas and then then they go in the freezer. It’s still good, but I have to do it the other way around. I add honey, coconut, PButter, yogurt, bananas, vanilla, and 1/4 cup of water (adding the liquid first) and come up with a substitute for ice cream. Not as creamy, but satisfies the ice cream craving :)

The Spinach Ice Cream demonstration is the one that really peaked my interest enough to buy my first one. Love this machine. Gifted my first one to my daughter in-law (with over 700 uses) Bought my daughter and myself a new one for Christmas! By the way the original one is still going strong with over 1000 uses to date!

You may want to rethink this decision. I’ve had a Vitamix for more than 25 years…and I just bought the Blendtec today. I got tired of the Vitamix taking so long to grind my quinoa into flour….not blending the ice enough, having to use the "pusher", having the Vitamix shoot stuff in the air if i didn’t have the cover on it. I had to buy 2 new jars a few months ago, because both of mine cracked. Vitamix has changed the design and I really dislike the new covers! it takes so much longer to make ice cream in the Vitamix…..longer to do most anything. Did I mention that it took 5 minutes or more to grind my quinoa into a flour?

    Hi Ruth,
I’m assuming you’re using the Twister jar? You may want to try smaller pieces of frozen banana.

That’s too funny…since vitamix lost a major lawsuit for patent infringement to blendtec….
