Hey, what about just adding some oil to your nut butter?

Butternut I specifically do not want any added oil (or any added anything for that matter). The Twister Jar is working just fine without any added oil. I’ve made several batches since my original post, no problems at all. Now I’m finding out that the raw almonds from CA are pasteurized with either steam or gassed with PPO. So I need to find a quality source for steamed almonds or get them from another country.

Just got my Twister jar and tried the almond butter. Like another comment, it got hot and dry. I added a little salt and a little honey and it was still dry and grainy. I will wait for it to cool and will try again.

I buy almonds at Costco. We put them in the toaster oven for a few minutes so they would be "dry roasted", hoping that would make it creamy. Maybe we didn’t roast them correctly. How long should raw almonds be roasted? Thanks!

Update: After the paste cooled, we put it back in the Twister jar and it just took a few seconds to turn smooth! So, now I’m wondering if I have to do it in two stages, or if roasting the raw almonds longer will make it possible to do the whole thing in 50 seconds, like the instructions say.

I have a wide side jar and I tried to do almond butter but it was a thick paste, I tried to blend it a few times and the blade fell off and detached from the jar. It blender in other words fell apart and I had to throw away the product as the plastic came off and was in the almond mix. I had to return it. Not sure what I did wrong. Any ideas ?
