I have tried three different brands of roasted almonds and I find that the Aldi unsalted roasted almonds work every time. The Costco brand and Blue Diamond brands would only turn to powder. I wonder if their almonds are drier. I ended up adding the powered almonds to the creamy Aldi almonds after I blended them and they did mix in but it took awhile. I used the Twister jar. From now on I am only going to buy the Aldi brand.
Yes you don’t want to make butter with wet nuts! Dry them and yes they are more nutritious if you soak them ! Look up info on the Weston Price foundation web site they have a wealth of information about healthy food.

It doesn’t call for raw almonds, and I think that might be the problem. It calls for dry, roasted almonds. There will be a huge difference in the outcome.
Once again, not raw almonds…dry, roasted ones.
Uh, they changed it. Look at the other comments.
