Yes, I have dried various vegetables at low temps until perfectly dry, then just blended them up in my Blendtec, add spices, herbs and voila! Quick ‘instant’ soup bases or flavoring for noodles or cream cheese spreads.

Also, if you live in the south-west and have a Sprouts near you, they have something called "veggie soup mix" in their bulk section. Sounds like it would work. Ingredients are: Green Split Peas, Yellow Split Peas, Barley, Lentils And Vegetable Pasta (Containing Whole Wheat Flour, Dehydrated Spinach, Tomato, Celery, Onion, Beets, And Garlic). Maybe just reduce the amount of garlic powder in the recipe since this mix already has some.

The very BEST brand for Freeze-Dried vegetables (non-GMO and infinitely better than dehydrated, even from MY garden) is THRIVE. Find a consultant near you or contact ME at MaryG@myTHRIVEsite.com. By the way, Thrive Life uses Blendtec blenders in all of their food demonstrations and videos! So do I. When you use the BEST ingredients and tools, you end up with the VERY BEST food. I am excited to try this recipe and make my own Herbed Vegetable Broth Powder! I know it will be great!

But this has 520 mg of sodium per TEASPOON. Is that lower much lower than store bought ? I honestly don’t know.
