Note: For almond butter using raw almonds, blend 1½ cups of raw almonds and 1-2 tbsp. of almond oil at speed 7 (or a Medium-High speed) until smooth and creamy.
I’ve jus tried making this in the Wildside and it was taking so long scraping down the sides I transferred it to a much smaller old blender I had, which did the trick. I think if you’re going to do this regularly then get the twister jar or it’ll drive you insane!
Really?! I was going to purchase a Blendtec and Twister Jar for the ease of making nut butters…
Unrefined olive oil is best I’m told
Would be nice if the recipe stated adding oil (how much) or soaking. I was unable to get anything creamy in 40 seconds at speed 7. It was just a hard clump. Gonna try soaking now.
I tried the suggestions above – the Twister jar will not make nice creamy butter with raw almonds. DO NOT SOAK THEM – that does not help, only makes it worse. Blending dry is best but it will not be creamy. Trying to over-blend will heat it up and won’t help.
