13 Easy Blender Ice Cream Recipes

Easy Blender Ice Cream Recipe

Do you want to take care of your sweet-tooth cravings in a hurry? Check out how easy it is to make vanilla ice cream in your blender. But you're not limited to plain vanilla—you can make just about any flavor you could possibly imagine!

Why Make Blender Ice Cream?

If you’ve ever found yourself craving ice cream but skipped out because you don’t have any in your freezer, blender ice cream is for you. It’s also great if you’ve been looking for new ways to use your blender! Not only does it taste good, but it also has other perks.

  • Quick and easy: Just place all of the ingredients into a Blendtec blender, press the Ice Cream setting, and blend until thick and creamy. That’s it! If you prefer it to be scoopable for cones later, pop it in the freezer for a couple hours to help it firm up.
  • Ice cream maker not required: Churning ice cream is a chore of the past! High-speed blenders can create ice cream without the need of salt or ice cream makers.
  • Simple ingredients: All you need for the blender ice cream base is half-and-half, sweetened condensed milk, lemon juice, and ice. Put these all in a blender and you’re ready to go!
  •

    Additional Tips

  • Frozen milk cubes: Plan ahead and pour some milk into an ice cube tray and freeze it. Blending these instead of regular ice cubes will result in a creamier, less icy texture.
  • Powdered milk: Adding powdered milk to your blender ice cream can help get that rich and creamy texture, even if you use regular ice cubes.
  • Toppings: Blender ice cream is very easy to adjust. Add some of your favorite fruits or some chocolate chips for new tastes, textures, and colors.
  • Liquids go first: Always add liquids into the blender before other toppings to help with the blending process.
  • Be careful not to over-blend: Stop blending once your ice cream reaches a thick and creamy consistency. Running the blender too long can cause it to heat up and melt the ice cream.

      Hi Tina,
It sounds like what you are experiencing is cavitation. Which means there is too much cold and not enough liquid. The blender needs to have liquid in order to pull the ingredients down to the blade. You can still have a thick ice-cream with some liquid. Give this ice cream recipe a try. Be sure to follow the ingredients/instructions exactly. If you are still having problems, let us know.
      Happy Blending!

For chocolate ice cream try substituting the whole milk with chocolate milk and still include the hot chocolate mix I tried this today and is was truly amazing.

Every time I try to make ice cream or a thick smoothie, I get a large air bubble, have to stop the blender several times, and get rid of the air bubble. How do I avoid this? Seems like this is when a plunger would come in handy?

This blender has many differences compared to other blenders.
      It has:
-Smart touchscreen interface, which makes for easy cleanup
      -Plunger-free, easy-clean jar
-Uniquely blunt safety blade; 80% thicker than other blender blades
-Hardened metal drive socket; so if you overload the jar, it stops blending instead of breaking like other blenders
      -Ultra high-speed, quiet motor
-Preprogrammed cycles and a slider bar to allow for total blending control

You can use skim milk, but you might not get the same consistency. The whole milk makes it thicker.
