Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 2 tbsp. canola oil
  • 1/3 cup salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

 

  1. Add ingredients to WildSide+ or FourSide jar in order listed and secure lid.
  2. Blend on a Medium speed for 75 seconds. 
  3. Use spatula to remove playdough from jar. 
  4. If you’d like to add color to your dough, place it in a stainless steel bowl and add a few drops of food coloring. While wearing latex gloves, knead the food coloring gently into the dough, until desired color is reached.
  5. Allow to cool before handling.
  6. Store in an airtight container.

Note: You may need to add more flour depending on your climate. If it's too sticky, continue to add flour a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.

    Add a package of Koolaid powder to the ingredients in
    the blender for bright colors.

    You can knead extra flour in and it’ll fix it.

    Can this be made with a gluten-free flour? Maybe something like Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Baking Flour? I realize you can’t absorb gluten through the skin but I can easily see little pieces getting into a child’s mouth (or the child deciding to taste it…). I need to be careful about gluten allergies and sensitivities. Thanks!!

    Yes, you can use a gluten-free flour, however, the amount needed will differ depending on the climate you’re in and the type of flour you use so just add it until you get the desired texture.
