9 Favorite Buffalo Wild Wings Recipes

Buffalo Wild Wings Copycat Recipes

What’s better than tender meat smothered in a delicious sauce? It’s the best — there’s a reason that restaurants such as Buffalo Wild Wings rake in the business! Of course, if you find yourself besieged by a craving for chicken wings and spicy garlic dip, you'll have to shell out cash and brave some crowds in order to find satisfaction.

On the other hand, you could save money and hassle by making your own wings at home. And what about those one-of-a-kind Buffalo Wild Wings sauces? We’ve got you covered there as well. We’ve collated nine of the best Buffalo Wild Wings Recipes for you to try at home!

Prep the Wings

Whole chicken wings have three components: the drumette, the flat, and the wing tip. Before you begin cooking your wings, you’ll need to separate them. Start by removing the wing tip from the flat with a sharp knife or kitchen shears. The wing tip has very little meat so it can be thrown away or saved in a bag in the freezer to make chicken broth later. After removing the wing tip, find the joint between the drumette and the flat and slice between them with a sharp knife, creating two pieces. Some stores sell wings that have already been separated and if you prefer to buy those, that’s fine too!

Pat the wings dry after separating, because excess moisture in wings will make it difficult for them to get nice and crispy. Once dry, add some salt and pepper and toss with tongs to make sure the salt and pepper are evenly distributed.

Should You Bread Your Wings?

According to former employees, Buffalo Wild Wings doesn’t add any kind of coating to their wings — the wings arrive raw and frozen. After thawing, employees simply toss them into the fryer as-is. We want to get as close as possible to the real deal, so our Buffalo Wild Wings recipes don't call for any batter on the wings, but if you want to mix things up, feel free to add a batter that would complement the sauce of your choosing.

Honey BBQ

    Hey guys.

My absolute favorite thing at BWW was to use the blackened seasoning as a dry rub. They’ve unfortunately changed up their blackening spices to a more cajun style.

Does anyone have any insight on the old style???

Way back someone asked for onion ring batter mix..mix 1 cup of regular beer and 1 cup of flour..wisk, cover, and let set at room temperature for 3 hours..batter rings and fry..perfect..the plain beers work best like Bud, Miller, etc. No lite beers.
