13 Easy Blender Ice Cream Recipes

Easy Blender Ice Cream Recipe

Do you want to take care of your sweet-tooth cravings in a hurry? Check out how easy it is to make vanilla ice cream in your blender. But you're not limited to plain vanilla—you can make just about any flavor you could possibly imagine!

Why Make Blender Ice Cream?

If you’ve ever found yourself craving ice cream but skipped out because you don’t have any in your freezer, blender ice cream is for you. It’s also great if you’ve been looking for new ways to use your blender! Not only does it taste good, but it also has other perks.

  • Quick and easy: Just place all of the ingredients into a Blendtec blender, press the Ice Cream setting, and blend until thick and creamy. That’s it! If you prefer it to be scoopable for cones later, pop it in the freezer for a couple hours to help it firm up.
  • Ice cream maker not required: Churning ice cream is a chore of the past! High-speed blenders can create ice cream without the need of salt or ice cream makers.
  • Simple ingredients: All you need for the blender ice cream base is half-and-half, sweetened condensed milk, lemon juice, and ice. Put these all in a blender and you’re ready to go!
  •

    Additional Tips

  • Frozen milk cubes: Plan ahead and pour some milk into an ice cube tray and freeze it. Blending these instead of regular ice cubes will result in a creamier, less icy texture.
  • Powdered milk: Adding powdered milk to your blender ice cream can help get that rich and creamy texture, even if you use regular ice cubes.
  • Toppings: Blender ice cream is very easy to adjust. Add some of your favorite fruits or some chocolate chips for new tastes, textures, and colors.
  • Liquids go first: Always add liquids into the blender before other toppings to help with the blending process.
  • Be careful not to over-blend: Stop blending once your ice cream reaches a thick and creamy consistency. Running the blender too long can cause it to heat up and melt the ice cream.

Can you use Powered Milk and ice in place of Frozen milk?
I figure with powered milk I could make the ice cream thicker

The Classic 570 is the model available in Costco. Here is a link that should help with blending if your blender does not have the cycle: http://www.blendtec.com/blog/blendtec-cycle-conversions/

I have the Blendtec 560, I think that is the model number. It’s the one they sell at Costco. It does not have an ice cream button. Can I still make these recipes?

Could you substitute the coconut milk for the whole milk and the half and half? Maybe freeze some of the coconut milk? Use full fat to get the creamy consistency?

One more question. Are you supposed to use the vanilla on only the vanilla flavor, or all the recipes?

      Thanks!

I can’t say 100% that these ice cream recipes will work in your blender, since they were made with Blendtec blenders in mind. You can certainly try, but I’d recommend that you stop in between blending to help push everything into the blade so that it can blend it all, without straining your blender.
