Parsley Smoothie Benefits
A drink consisting primarily of fruits and vegetables has so much to offer you in terms of your health! Here are just a few benefits you’ll experience from making this smoothie part of your daily routine.
Vitamins and Nutrients
Cucumber: Cucumbers are a simple vegetable, but they’re packed with vitamins K, B, and C as well as potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, and copper. These nutrients are excellent for maintaining a stable blood sugar level, weight management, heart health, digestion, and more. They’re also super hydrating and contain antioxidants.
Banana: You already know bananas are rich in potassium, which is great for your heart and blood pressure. But did you know they also contain lots of vitamins A, C, and B6, as well as magnesium? These help promote healthy muscles and bones, prevent kidney stones, lower your risk of stroke, and aid in workout recovery. People who regularly consume bananas also get a high dose of fiber and feel full for longer.
Pineapple: Pineapples are known to contain vitamin C and are great for immune defense — and they also have a lot of folate, calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, and zinc as well as vitamins A, B6, E, and K. These vitamins and nutrients aid the body in fighting ailments such as arthritis, blood clots, muscle soreness, and much more.
Parsley: In this green passion smoothie, parsley is the star of the show for its antioxidant and antibacterial qualities. It has vitamins A, K, and C, helping to regulate blood sugar, kidneys, eyes, and bones. It’s easy to add to any food as a garnish — whether fresh or dry — and it tastes great, too!
Immunity Boost
You may have noticed that each of the ingredients above contains vitamin C, which makes this smoothie especially potent when it comes to immune support. Research has shown that vitamin C helps repair tissue all over our bodies and fights free radicals, which can prevent or delay the onset of cancer and other diseases as well as the aging process. High doses of vitamin C have also been linked to shorter colds. You can’t go wrong with a high level of this nutrient in your diet!
Long-Lasting Energy
Unlike highly caffeinated beverages that stimulate you hard and fast only to lead to a crash a few hours later, fruits and vegetables will provide you with a long-lasting boost that doesn’t end in fatigue. Just a single serving of fruit gives you up to 120 calories worth of energy and fuels your body with natural energy, antioxidants, vitamins, fiber, and minerals.
Other Ingredients to Try in This Parsley Smoothie Detox
If you have a food sensitivity to any of the ingredients listed above or you just prefer the taste of another fruit, we have some recommended substitutions for you! Allergic to pineapple? Try apples instead, which are also quite high in vitamin C. If you don’t like the flavor of bananas, ginger has equally effective anti-inflammatory properties. You could also substitute lemon for the cucumber and/or the parsley for its antioxidant effects.

Carb counters can always add fiber to nix out some of the carbs if limiting carb grams throughout the day.
The beauty of a juice/smoothie like this for breakfast or lunch is that it keeps you "cleansing" the body’s cells until you consume something with protein and fat (more like a main meal). Some days, I sip a fruit smoothie (and water) all morning and afternoon long until dinner – it keeps me going!
Made this with the anxiousness of a great lunch. It turns out rather thin and pale in color. Needs a re-do
Delicious!!
My GI tract has problems digesting fruit (sugar) (as well as gluten.
Can we have more blender recipes emphasizing veggies/greens please?
