Instructions
- Add wheat berries to Kitchen Mill, and grind into flour.
- Add all ingredients to FourSide jar. Secure lid and select "Batter." Add more flour if necessary so dough isn't sticky.
- Place dough on greased baking sheet (one without sides works best). Roll dough out â…›-inch thick.
- Sprinkle with salt or vegetable powder, if desired. Use sharp knife or pizza cutter to score dough in 1- or 2-inch rectangles.
- Bake at 350°F until lightly browned, about 15 minutes. If edges brown too fast, remove outer crackers and continue baking rest of crackers.
Notes
For soup crackers, score in 1-inch squares and break apart when cool.
You’re right, you can grind wheat with your blender. However, you’ll have to grind more than 3/4 cup for it to work in the blender (2 cups in a FourSide jar, 3 cups in a WildSide+ jar).
Thanks! I’ve been going through and saving a bunch of recipes and a lot like these appeared to only be able to be made with the kitchen mill. It’d be useful to have a conversion chart/page somewhere showing which ones you can grind in a blender/conversions – for those of us who don’t have a mill yet. :-)
Just a thought/suggestion. :-)
We have one in our Fresh Blends recipe book and are currently working on putting it on our website!
I thought I could grind wheat with my Blendtec blender – is this something I can only make with a kitchen mill?
