Dry-Skin Remedies to Make in Your Blendtec Blender
I absolutely love fall—the crisp air, the changing colors of leaves and the holiday festivities. The one thing I don’t love is how dry my skin gets—especially from running outside in the cold. So, moisturizers, scrubs and masks are essential, and I prefer to take the natural route by making my own. But my life, like yours, is busy, so I need options that are quick and easy.
That’s why I like using my Blendtec blender to make dry-skin remedies—it’s fast and effortless. Perhaps one of the most appealing aspects is that clean-up is a cinch. To clean the blender jar, simply fill the jar with a cup of water and a drop of dish soap, secure the lid, put the jar on the blender and pulse a few times.
Here are some great recipes for nurturing your skin:
Avocado Moisturizer
Add 2 teaspoons honey and the flesh of 1 avocado to your Twister jar. Add 5 almonds if you want some exfoliating action as well as moisturizing. Place the lid on the jar and select “Batters.” Turn the Twister lid counterclockwise during blending. Apply to skin, and leave on for 10–15 minutes.
Yogurt Mask
Add 2 tablespoons yogurt, 1 tablespoon honey, and 2 strawberries or 4 blueberries to your Twister jar. Place the lid on the jar and select “Batters.” Turn the Twister lid counterclockwise during blending. Apply to skin, and leave on for 10–15 minutes.
Oatmeal Mask
Add 1 egg, 1 tablespoon plain yogurt, 1 teaspoon honey and ½ cup oatmeal to your Twister jar. Place the lid on the jar and select “Batters.” Turn the Twister lid counterclockwise during blending. Apply to skin, and leave on for 10–15 minutes.
Banana-Papaya Moisturizer
Add 1 tsp honey, 1 tablespoon yogurt, 1 banana, ½ of a papaya to your Twister jar. Place the lid on the jar and select “Batters.” Turn the Twister lid counterclockwise during blending. Apply to skin, and leave on for 10–15 minutes.
