Blendtec Becomes Official Blender of Gatorade Fuel Bar

Partnership Brings the Latest in Sports Fueling Equipment and Education to Pro, College and Elite Athletes

OREM, UT (December 16, 2014) –

High-performance blender pioneer Blendtec announced today that it is the official blender supplier for Gatorade Fuel Bar, the latest in sports fueling equipment and education. Each Gatorade Fuel Bar includes three top-of-the-line Blendtec commercial blenders that can be used to make healthy shakes combining fruit, yogurt and Gatorade protein powders designed specifically to support competitive athletes’ nutrition needs.

Each location is fully equipped with refrigerators, dishwashers, and tablets with a selection of suggested recipes, as well as the complete line of Gatorade products from Prime, Perform and Recover Series. Most of the Gatorade Fuel Bars are housed in the team weight room and can be accessed any time the facility is open.

The Blendtec Stealth blender being deployed in the Fuel Bars is the world’s quietest and most advanced commercial blender, with the ability to make 20 smoothies per machine in 10 minutes courtesy of automated blend cycles, a Blendtec WildSide+ jar that can fit two large smoothies simultaneously, and an industrial-strength 15-amp, 1875-watt, 3.8 peak horsepower motor.  Smoothie recipes are also being supplied by Blendtec and shared with fans at sporting events across the country.

Gatorade Fuel Bars have been installed at 18 team facilities to date, including the Buffalo Bills, Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bulls, St. Louis Rams, Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos, Jacksonville Jaguars, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Redskins as well as at Duke University, University of Florida, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma State and the Brazil National Football Club.

The partnership adds to athletic team affiliations that Blendtec has established on its own, including official blender status with the Carolina Panthers, St. Louis Rams, Texas Tech, University of Virginia, and University of Southern California.

The association advocates the use of full-time sports dietitians working with athletes and other constituencies on a day-to-day basis to ensure that they are well-nourished, properly refueled after exercise to speed full recovery, and educated about wise nutrition choices.
